The windows and door are now open and I have started to better define the stone trim around the window. I have left as much of the outer bark on the carving as possible. Lots of details to go yet.
Lisa Allen studied photography in college. After college she did not like having to rely on photo labs to enlarge her photographs. She did less and less photography, and as time went by the camera stayed on the shelf more than it was in use. She started using her creative abilities to do digital artwork and graphic design for other people. Around 2001, Lisa started making antler art and lamps. She wanted to carve on moose antlers, and to prepare herself for this she started meeting with a woodcarving group in 2004, and has been carving ever since then. Lisa enjoys creating whimsical houses out of cottonwood bark and looks forward to taking classes and learning different carving techniques. She prefers to finish her carvings so the beauty of the natural wood grain shows.
